| A&P employees prevent fire at Beach Club II |
|
On Friday, November 20th a fire started at The Beach Club Tower Two. The compactor was engulfed with flames and the smell of smoke was traveling through the trash chutes to all the floors throughout the building. Three of our Beach Club employee’s smelled smoke and called each other over the radio to run to the trash room. Although one of our employees works in Tower One, he didn’t think twice about running over to Tower Two to help. They all ran to the trash room with their fire extinguishers, goggles and masks. Due to the fast response of our employees the fire was extinguished before the Fire Department arrived. The building still had to be evacuated of course for further investigation. A lit cigarette was determined to be the cause of the compactor fire.I am very proud of the entire Beach Club staff for handling a very scary situation with a calm and professional demeanor.
